Toronto Neighbourhood of the week: Parkdale

I was impressed with the amount of cute little stores I found at Parkdale (Queen Street West) this week.

The first store I went into is called "The future of Frances Watson”, the name is corky yet catchy and the store layout and environment can be described by the same adjectives. I was expecting a vintage store, however the store carries men & women's brand new clothing assortment by many local and American designers.
Most of the women collection is made on a studio on the back of the store. The clothing variety is great, however, as you might know by now, my weakness is accessories so that’s what I want to emphasize here. From stunning leather bags, to colourful head turbans (l.o.v.e), a great assortment of necklaces (l.o.v.e), fringe earrings and floral stockings (l.o.v.e) the accessories definitely got my attention. The jewelry collection was designed by the Canadian designer Ashley Ling for Fisher Street. www.fisherstreet.com and my favorite pieces are still the Autumn Winter 2010 collection of 2010 displayed at the store now. Kudos for the store’s buyer for also bringing the denim Canadian brand called “Naked & Famous” for Men. What is cool about the brand is that it uses only the most unique and rare denim fabrics from Japan. The design and cut is amazing and some of the jeans have the interior brushed for extra comfort. Love it!!!! http://www.nakedandfamousdenim.com/
It's called cashemer street jeans. What not to love about it?

Spotted trends: head turbans, fringe earrings, floral stockings, bright colours, boxy-cut sleeveless tops, cognac leather bags.
